2. TAURUS
Second Sign of the Zodiac.
Fixed Sign of the Earth Triplicity.
Passive Sign of the Intellectual Trinity.
I
This sweet-tempered and loving person is naturally obstinate and willful, badly determined and animalistic, but enduring, persevering, and has much hidden energy and resistance.
II — THE PRECESSION OF THE EQUINOXES
In its last transit, Taurus showered the earth with cosmic rays from 4627 to 2470 B. C. This was another earthy period, during which mankind lived in a Stone Age, starting a new upward cycle of development, after the great catastrophe that caused the obliteration of the advanced Gemini nations of Atlantis and Lemuria.
During this period man lived close to nature, and worshipped fertility. Thus, he adulated the bull in his religion. Converts were baptized in fresh blood, which poured over their naked bodies, spurting from a sacrificial animal, slaughtered for the occasion. This was probably the origin of the hymn 'washed in the blood of the lamb."
Man was very pragmatic mentally at this time, and not sociable ; and so he fought his enemies with his muscles, using sticks and stones to fight his battles.
Ill — NATURE, CHARACTER and PERSONALITY
In disposition Taurus is determined, laborious and headstrong, but also practical, acquisitive, and honest; he is sociable, faithful and affectionate; at times he is really-lazy, unclean, and may be prejudiced, angry and unreasonable. He is often naughty and proud. When he attaches himself to the object of his affections, it is for good and he will notice no one else. He has a tendency to gluttony and coarse pleasures. He greatly desires to remain in one place; and he very carefully avoids all problems. In speech, he chatters along! In walking, he merely toddles along!
In general, with his Sun in Taurus, he is determined, stable and enduring, but this is somewhat varied by the position of his Moon. Note the following polarities:
MOON IN ARIES . . . dominating and energetic, but follows the wrong road, insistently.
IN TAURUS . . . self-controlled, strong, practical, but very obstinate.

The ears are round, but have heavy lobes. The lips are full and sensual, the skin pale and soft, while the hands and feet are plump. They walk, merely toddling along!
V — OCCUPATION

Taurus might tire of Gemini's effervescence, for Taurus takes himself seriously, while that is the last of Gemini's virtues ; Taurus is a pillar of society, who finds it hard to get started, but sees things through to the bitter end; this is all Greek to Gemini, who skims through life plucking the flower of the moment. Taurus helps to stabilize Gemini, whereas Gemini lightens Taurus' heavy-footed outlook with gaiety.
CANCER . . . click. Both are "looker-afters", are dependable, love food, home and the kids. And Cancer is sensitive and understanding.
LEO ... a strong attraction, especially when Leo is feminine ; but both are stubborn, and have strong likes and dislikes.
VIRGO ... a fine team: both are useful, have principles and stamina; both are good parents and providers.
LIBRA . . . not best; both are artistically minded, but Libra is an opportunist, and is too dashing, agile and enthusiastic for Taurus.
SCORPIO . . . good, can understand each other well, for both are possessive, jealous and emotional.
SAGITTARIUS ... not wise; both are good teachers, but Sagittarius is not fastidious, is too changeable, and is too much of a shoulder-slapper to suit Taurus.
CAPRICORN ... a good match; both are business-like, resourceful, reliable and helpful.
AQUARIUS . . . not easy; both are stubborn, lacking in principles, and will fight it out to the bitter end.
