PREFACE

In this lifetime, my earliest contacts with Astrology were vague and indistinct. I felt that the ones who first mentioned it to me were a bit 'crack-brained.'

Some years later, I read an article by one of my fa­vorite authors, that mentioned Astrology very favorably. So I decided to get a text on the subject, and prove for myself that it was not 'sound'.

Using myself as my best known guinea-pig, I was astounded at the readings—they not only told me what I already knew, but surprised me with factors I had not considered before. Next, I studied my family and best known patients and friends. This completely sold me on the subject!

Commenting on my discoveries to patients, I found that many of them were interested in studying the sub­ject, too; and finally the suggestion was made that we form a class to study Astrology together.

So I inquired about, and found 15 people who agreed to meet once a week to study the subject. This was back in 1941 . . . the class has remained active ever since, some dropping away, and others taking their places.

We used many text-books, finding much that was good in most of them. But in my search for material, I could never find the right book for both teacher and pupil, so I decided to gather together the material from varied sources, and write such a book !

This book is limited to Natal Astrology . . . the study of the 12 signs in relation to the individual. The Preces­sion of the Equinoxes has been included, but otherwise the horoscope and its interpretation has been its main objective.

The mechanics of making a horoscope is not touched upon, since numerous other text-books have covered this phase very nicely.

The book tells how the 12 signs express through Character, Personality and Body-build; how they react on the Cusps of the Houses, and how planets react in these signs; what the Mating relationships are; what Occupations they excel in; and how the Cuspians and Satellitiums react . . . that is the heart of this book.

The book I sought but could not find, I now offer to both student and teacher. My only hope is that they enjoy its concise delineations as I did when I put them together . . . that the book will be helpful, and save them much valuable time!
